This Single Status Certificate document will most likely be required as a supporting document if you are getting married in a foreign country.

If the country where you will be presenting this document is a signing member of the Apostille section of the Hague Convention, you will need an apostille on the document for it to be valid in that country.

Proof of identification

All certificate applications must be accompanied by identification.

To apply for your own certificate you must provide:

  • Three (1) forms of your own identification (see below).
  • To apply for a certificate on behalf of another person

     you must provide:

    A letter giving permission from the person named on the certificate (include their address, daytime telephone number and signature).
